Applications for the UL Innovative Education Award Are Now Open

Applications for the 2019 UL Innovative Education Award (ULIEA) are now open! I encourage all organizations in the US and Canada who are advancing environmental education through STEM principals (E-STEM) in their communities to apply for this amazing award. The five award winners not only receive a monetary award of $25,000, $50,000 or $100,000, but also join an impressive network of likeminded ULIEA alumni.

It’s been thrilling to see the immense impact this award has had on the E-STEM industry since NAAEE created it four years ago in partnership with Underwriters Laboratories (UL NFP)—most previous award winners increased their youth participation by 10-30 percent after winning the award and two-thirds of the award winners now collaborate on projects with other winning organizations. I’m ecstatic to continue to support E-STEM organizations in achieving their missions of inspiring and educating the next generation of scientists, chemists and conservationists and look forward to continuing to see the impact the award has in 2019!

The five winning organizations will be announced in August 2019. To apply before the March 12, 2019 deadline, please visit our application page or Apply Now. We're available to answer any questions you have about the process, as well!
